Scammers are getting savvier by the day, and it can be hard to decipher what’s real and what’s not. Spam emails to spam notices in the mail are getting more sophisticated in what they send. Towards the end of last year and into the new year, veterinary hospitals worldwide are receiving notices in the mail from “Domain Listings” for payment for domain hosting services. We have a mockup of the notice below.
In most cases, WhiskerCloud hosts and maintains all costs for your domain. In other cases, our customers host their own domains with providers like GoDaddy, Network Solutions, eNom, or Google domains. If you have WhiskerCloud manage your domain, you never need to worry about notices like this. If you manage your own domain, you can also disregard and throw the listing in the trash.
There is a quick and easy way to check where your domain is hosted. You can go to Whois Domain Lookup and enter your domain address. It will show you the provider that hosts your domain. If the notice you received is not from the company that hosts your domain, it is most likely spam.
If you are unsure about a notice you’ve received in the mail, please be sure to send a photo of it to our support team at email@example.com so that they can take a look and verify your domain status with you. Please note that some notices you receive may be legitimate, so it’s important to know where your domain is hosted.
WhiskerCloud websites are fully loaded with everything you need to grow.
We offer cloud hosting, SEO, real-time website tracking, reputation management, social media management, and advertising — and all of it comes with unlimited support from our team.
