June is full of exciting holidays that you can promote your business with. With everything going on this month, there is no excuse not to have a stellar marketing strategy to kick off the summer. Get ahead of the game by planning out your social media content, website updates, and other marketing elements to showcase the things that make your business stand out from the crowd! WhiskerCloud is with you every step of the way to help.

Adopt-a-Cat Month

According to CNBC, since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, “animal rescues across the country saw a spike in adoptions and foster applications.” With cat adoptions on the rise, this is your chance to create content that helps them find your services for their new furry family member. Be sure to showcase those services on the website and create blog posts on what pet parents should do during their cat’s first few months at home. This is also a great time to showcase your available vaccinations, kitten packages, and wellness plans.

Feline Care

Create social media content geared toward cat parents, informing them on how to best care for their new feline friend while showcasing the services you can provide for them. Think of all the things you suggest to new cat owners and then use that information to create visually appealing graphics. Or, let us do the work for you! Our social team here at WhiskerCloud is the best of the best. As a content client, all of your social media graphics and captions will be created, scheduled, and published for you by our team.

National Pet Preparedness Month

Just like it’s important to be prepared for an emergency or natural disaster, it is also equally important for pet parents to be prepared for any pet crisis that may unexpectedly occur. You are a trusted resource for your clients, and one way to continue maintaining this trust is to provide information that will help save their pet’s life.

Putting together a guide for your clients to reference in case an emergency arises is easy and extremely helpful during stressful situations. This can live as an emergency page on your website and contain information about who to contact during an after-hours emergency as well as your team’s procedure when dealing with emergencies.

Emergency Veterinarian

Another great addition for your site is to include a resources section that pet parents can visit. This section can include a collection of resources that provide guidance and important information to pet parents. These additions to your site create a one-stop-shop where your clients can learn more about pet preparedness before booking an appointment or contacting your clinic if they have any further questions.

Pet preparedness is another opportunity to share information about common toxins for pets. As you have probably encountered, many pet parents are unaware of common household items, such as plants and foods that are harmful to their furry friends. Create content that showcases these toxins and provides an easy-to-access resource for your clients to utilize when checking their homes for common toxins.

National Microchipping Month

Your clients and followers look to you as an expert of all things veterinary. With June being National Microchipping Month, it’s a great opportunity to inform your audience about the importance of microchipping their pet, and specifically, at your clinic.

Utilize your social media to highlight important statistics related to microchipping. Here are a few to get you started:

  • The American Humane Association estimates over 10 million dogs and cats are lost or stolen in the U.S. every year.
  • One in three pets will become lost at some point during their life.
  • A study published in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, including 53 animal shelters across the U.S., confirmed the high rate of return of microchipped dogs and cats to their families and the importance of microchip registration. From the study:
  • Only about 22 percent of lost dogs that entered the animal shelters were reunited with their families. However, the return-to-owner rate for microchipped dogs was over 52 percent (a 238 percent increase).
  • Less than 2 percent of lost cats that entered the animal shelters were reunited with their families. The return-to-owner rate for microchipped cats was dramatically higher at over 38 percent (more than 2000 percent better).
  • Only 58 percent of the microchipped animals’ microchips had been registered in a database with their pet parent’s contact information.

Social media is also a great place to post a video from a veterinarian or staff member of your clinic demonstrating the microchipping process and explaining the components of the microchip. A video demonstration is an excellent resource for concerned pet parents and can ease apprehension about the procedure.

You may want also to consider running a promotion on microchipping services for the month. Promotions are always a great way to drum up business, and since microchipping is often one of the first services provided to a new pet, this will get new pet parents in the door! Consider running a microchip clinic and advertising the event to your community along with a promotion. National microchipping month also allows you to partner with your local shelter and become their recommended veterinarian for microchipping.

Showcasing your microchipping services on your website is another great idea to highlight your clinic. At WhiskerCloud, we often build pages dedicated to microchipping that explain the process to pet parents and feature essential facts about pet microchips. We can then add a direct link to book an appointment or contact your clinic with further questions about the process.
