In the United States, National Pet Month is observed every May – a time to rejoice over the many advantages that our pets provide to our lives. Use this month to celebrate your patients and showcase your staff’s pets.
2. Chip Your Pets Month
Not every pet owner understands the importance of microchipping their pet. According to PetFinder, over 10 million pets go missing every year, and one in three pets will go missing at some point in their life. Make sure your clients understand the importance of this simple procedure.
3. Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month
Many allergy issues go undiagnosed because pet parents believe that itching, paw licking, or rolling around are normal pet behaviors. If you offer allergy testing or solutions, this is a great time to promote them. Education is key, and pet owners do not know enough about pet allergy awareness yet.
Because Lyme disease is such a dangerous condition in dogs, it’s critical to do all you can to educate clients about how to keep their pets safe from infection, especially if they like taking their dogs for walks or hikes in wooded areas now that the weather is becoming warmer.

The objective of National Dog Anxiety Awareness Week, which takes place this year from May 1 to May 7, is to raise awareness about the emotional well-being of dogs. Provide your clients with information to assist you to recognize anxiety in your dog and offer some strategies for dealing with it in support of this campaign.

The National Rescue Dog Day on May 20 is marked with a promise of love, friendship, and compassion. Each year, millions of animals, particularly dogs, are abandoned by their owners and end up on the streets. 14. Heat Awareness Day
Do you live somewhere where the weather gets warmer than average? You understand the risks, but do your clients? In the United States, Memorial Day is a national day of mourning for Americans who have lost their lives while serving in the military. Today is a day of remembering and honoring, so make sure your messaging reflects that.
